Hello everyone my name is Alexander Wesley also known as “FB.” I am a Bay area native, raised in Oakland, California. I got involved in the arts at a very young age when my grandmother saw the talent that no one else did. Every summer or break from school, she would encourage and work with me on my craft. Whether it was piano or drawing lessons, I was always involved in some type of art with her support. Drawing was easier for me to pick up on as a child, since it required less rules and patience, so naturally I improved a lot faster. Consequently, I started to focus more on art with music being a side thing.
My journey led me to Oakland School for the Arts (OSA) when I was in the 8th grade. There I began to see that people stand out when they embrace more than one talent and I became more interested in music. About two years ago I joined Youth Movement Records (YMR), where I learned how to be a studio engineer, producer, and most importantly I learned how to work with a team.
The best part about being with YMR is the team treats you like family. At YMR I received two awards for MVP of Production and Engineering in the summer season of 2009 and now I am currently working there with other youth, advancing my engineering and mixing skills and techniques. I would like to give a special thanks to Fred, David, Jolly, Diaris, Ryan, Andrea, and most importantly Will. These people motivated me and pushed me to keep going.
