Being on the constant brink of homelessness never slowed singer-songwriter Andrea President from her passionate pursuit of music.
In fact, this struggle has been instrumental in her musical growth, as well as her personal healing.
Andrea taught herself how to play the acoustic guitar at the age of 19 and soon began performing at her church. Shortly thereafter, Andrea found herself at the doors of Youth Movement Records, a youth-run record label and development program. There she formalized her relationship with members of The Recording Academy, and recorded her first song, “Like My Father” from her upcoming album.
Andrea President hopes her journey will serve as an example to teach others to follow their dreams, no matter how great the obstacles may be.
